Hopkins dominated Eastman and a fight against Taylor wouldn't be much different at this stage. I hope Hopkins does try to go after Taylor soon to see if they really mean what they say or if they are just talking.

          what?

I hope Taylor waits. He is a tremendous talent, and is the future. At this point he is not ready for Hopkins. Hopkins would give him a lesson. I don't need the future of the division taking a "meldrick taylor" beating this early in his career.
Let me make it plain and simple for yall. If Hopkins and Taylor are going to fight, they have to fight NOW. Hello. Bernard cannot fight the winner of Trinidad-Wright until August or September since they ain't even fighting until May. As for Tarver and Johnson, their fight isn't even on the schedule yet.

That only leaves one option, so Taylor is oing to have to fight Hopkins now, or NEVER. For those of you saying Taylor should wait, he CANNOT wait, there is no time. Hopkins is retiring soon, or did yall forget?

Taylor's life and career will not be messed up if he loses to Hopkins. Hopkins doesn't hav the style these days that would cause Taylor to be completely beat up and demoralized for life. Did yall see the Eastman fight? If Taylor does lose, and that's a big if, he will still go on to be the champ at some time later on, trsut me.

Until last night I've always said that Taylor needed a few more bouts before taking on B-Hop, but after watching Hopkins run for 6 rounds I'm not so sure anymore. He showed Eastman way too much respect during the first half of the fight, and I think Taylor would try and force him to fight a little more (atleast I hope so!!) I wasnt impressed with Benard at all last night, and got so bored watching him run I almost stopped watching the fight. It got to the point that I was hoping like hell Eastman would knock him out!!

and I agree that losing to Hopkins wouldnt end his career or anything..he'd just be one of many that did. And everybody would just blame it on his youth and inexperience.

Jermaine will probably be a great champion someday, just not yet.
He MIGHT be able to beat Hopkins this year, but most likely not. His management knows that, and so does he. No need to take that risk. I guess Jermaine wants to mature and be ready when the time comes to fight for the championship, so he doesn't want to rush it needlessly.
Can't blame him for that, and you can't blame Hopkins for going after bigger moneyfights to end his freakishly long career either.

Unless Hopkins' pride gets the better of him, I don't really think this fight will happen at all. Why should he risk losing to the new kid in town when he can move up to fight in a no-lose situation, or go for Trinidad instead? If he choose the Trinidad route, it's a no-lose situation too. Because if he loses that fight, people will say he grew old overnight.

taylor really hasn't been in a tough fight. if hopkins puts the pressure on him and turns the fight into a rough fight i dont know how tatylor will do. If i see taylor win a TOUGH fight where he has to dig deep to win i'll say he is ready but till then....he's still too green
