b-hop has always been entertaining to me, but he was even more entertaining in his prime (which was middleweight). He had his occasional stinker, but overall he was exciting. Only post 40 he slowed down a lot, notably against winky & calzaghe. Even then what he does is extremely skillful, whereas Ruiz doesn't have a lot of skill period.

Ruiz has never had a Trinidad moment, or Pavlik, or Tarver, or Glen Johnson, or Echols, or Allen, etc.

You guys make me laugh when you say Hopkins is boring. It just shows your ignorance and lack of boxing knowledge. If you knew the slightest bit about boxing you would understand and appreciate the art and recognize a fighter like Bernard's talent.

Yet Hopkins still hasn't been cut in a single fight to my knowledge (there's only 5 fights of his I've yet to see because I can't find them for download).

Never cut, never ****** up, no bruises, nothing.

          pure comedy gold!
          It had it's moments.

Overall though they were never really going to put on some masterful fight.

Joe's style is the type of style that frustrates the hell out of a guy like Bernard.

And Bernard's style is the type that frustrates the hell out of a guy like Calzaghe.

if you can't enjoy the calculated stylistics of bernard hopkins...then maybe boxing is not what you should be watching...

              Agreed.

I'm still in awe of all that he's achieved. Especially this post 40 stuff he's pulling off.

He was the first guy I ever really started following and I had no clue he would end up where he is today.

I'm hoping he can really pull it off against the Dawson/Johnson winner and walk out on back to back high notes with Pavlik and whoever wins that one.

ALI whos in your avator was light years ahead of HOPKINS on all levels. More inportantly the thrill/exciting factor which hopkins did not ever have.

theres nothing wrong with being a highly technical fighter, marquez and mayweather are both two of my favs.

but hopkins throws low punch outputs and hugs/holds/clinches/headbutts way too much for me to be a fan of his.
