I wonder how different Morales career might have gone if he took full advantage of his reach and boxing skills and didn't brawl as much

I think if he used it more, he would've had better longevity and maybe more accolades, but his status as a "fan friendly" fighter would be lessened.

This is hypocritical because you think Erik Morales would have had the fan base or following if he would have just boxed all his life?

What made him great was that he chose to brawl when the other man questioned his manhood. When he switched to south paw against Manny, that was classic...

I'm not saying that. Morales is my favorite because he fought the way he did, I would never change that. All I'm saying is for his health and for his career accomplishments, it may have been advantageous for him to box more.

My first post on this forum. Erik Morales might have been a better fighter than Cotto, but Miguel is a lot bigger. People are underestimating how much bigger Cotto will be on fight night than Pacquiao. He is going to come in between 155-160. The only man to ever beat Cotto was almost 6' and was simply a bigger man. It still took 11 brutal rounds to make Cotto quit. JMM was able to hurt Pac-Man, don't tell me Cotto can't do the same. That being said I got Pac in a close decision because of his speed. 115-113. Mark it down!!!!!

Well Pacquiao has carried his shot up, but not as devastating at WW as it was at featherweight. Pacquiao could walk his opponents down then, and he couldn't stop Erik, when he stops Cotto at 145 that will show you how much better Erik is.
