Volodimir is ukrainized version of Wladimir, and is common to western urkaine more then central and eastern. taking into account that Wlad is from Kiev, which is part central part eastern, his name is actually Wladimir, which is the same as Vladimir, pretty much.
But Vladimir is the original (nearly) Russian name, from which both Volodymyr and Wladimir are derived... Technically, both of the latter are Westernisations of the Russian original.
