i agree with these guys..Williams has always cried bitched and moaned that he cant secure top fights or thats hes being ducked...well, they slap his tall talentless ass in the face with a fight with Pavlik and his chance to boost his name to the boxing world...and hes ****ing crying about the purse split which isnt even in the millions difference...what a ****ing loser...

This is the second time that Pwill has had a chance to fight Pavlik. He shouldn't let it get away. 60-40 purse should get the deal done.

Thats the way I see it! TR and Pavlik are taking the majority of the HBO money and they are trying to eat all the gate sponsor money! Thats BS!
Without PW they would be eating less at the gate and HBO's tit. Pay the man a fare share of what will be generated!

bottom line is, pavlik and williams have nowhere else to turn to right now. they pretty much need each other. i agree that they shouldn't have to split the gate money and sponsorship money 50-50, but PWILL definitely shouldn't be left out in the cold either.

Pwill would get everyone's respect by fighting and beating Pavlik. 154 is nothing now that Kirkland is out. The thing is, if he wins the belt at 160, who else is there to fight? He will be fighting the same small cats that he was looking to fight before.

Pavlik doesn't have any head movement, all he does is cover up. Pwill would wear him out with those 4 and 5 punch combos. If he landed 30% against Winky, he will land 50% on Pavlik. Pwill by 8th rd KO!

how does anybody know if PW's power will come up in this weight class? those 4 and 5 punch combos dont have **** behind them. i have seen kelly get off the mat to knock out JT and there is no way in hell pitter-patter williams has more power than JT. im not a huge kelly fan trust me im not but i think he takes PW and possibly knocks him out. especially if he cant hurt the ghost.

Pavlik does have power, but he has to be set to get off. Pwill is not a KO puncher but he puts them together well with different speeds and different power behind them. Most of the guys he has been fighting recently have been defensive types, which makes it harder to get the KO. But he has definitely Punished the competition. When was the last time that you heard Winky actually ADMIT that he lost a fight? Pwill will wear Pavlik down. But it will be an exciting fight as neither fighter backs down.

It's true that at the moment neither man can get a bigger fight than this. Both guys win in this scenario. And Williams trully can't lose. He fights for the linear middleweight title. If he loses than people can say that it was north of his natural weightclass but yet he fought a tough opponent and got paid more than decently doing it, all the while garnering more notoriety. Pavlik gets an actual name opponent in the ring on HBO and will get paid well doing it. He is the draw here, make no mistake about it. I say top rank give Goosen and company 1500 tickets. If they can sell them to Williams fans, they keep the money, but whatever they don't sell, they have to pay Top Rank the difference. And Arum and Pavlik get the rest of the gate. As for sponsorship money, split it 60/40 for the champ unless he draws all the sponsors. I'm all about whoever gets the sponsors gets the money, but it's not that easy. These two need each other and truth be told, if Haye hadn't pulled out against Wladimir, than this money wouldn't be available to them. They need to stop bitching and fight already, it's good money in a down market and good exposure. Do it.

Williams vs Pavlik needs to happen, This is the only must see fight at 160, especially with Abraham moving up to 168.

It's pretty clear that Top Rank does not want this fight.

Man, did they lose faith in Pavlik after that loss to BHop. First they did everything to prevent the bout with Abraham, now they are doing the same with PW. Jeeezzz, just go ahead and fight Mora then.....

This is not Pavlik and Loew's fault, I believe they do want the big fights.

For PW, I don't think it makes that much sense to take this fight at 1.5 mil, being one of the best fights the sport has to offer, surelly the best in the 154-160 range, when he can make about the same going ahead with Sergei, a fight already in place for October, and leave the Pavlik bout for 2010.

Top Rank will not ever let this fight happen unless Williams gets some meaningful wins that force the people to demand the fight. Or Williams will have to decline so much that it;s clear as hell and then they will make the fight. As long as Williams is where he is now they will pass on him. Goosen has the same problem though, If Williams loses he is really worthless at that point, catch 22. Fight won't happen and they aren't serving up Berto either, Williams Berto and Pavlik Cotto are preotected fighters for the time being.
