If Cotto wins he won't move up much further but he will have earned a chance to. If he wins he will get a fight with Mayweather or we will get to see him rematch Mosley. Not bad considering if Cotto were to win either fight at this point he would be the p4p #1 so he will stand to gain alot with a win. I feel Pac Vs Cotto is a mismatch waiting to happen honestly. Funny thing is it could go either way. If Cotto is on point and can break Manny down it will go in his favor, if Manny is landing alot on Cotto and Cotto's stamina and face are what he will need o get deep he in big trouble to me.

For me, this isn't the BCS or anything, they are both equal in size, reach with Pacquaio edging him in speed and experience.

If Cotto beats Pacman, for me he is p4p #1, until Money May comes back to the party and tries to reclaim his throne.

If Cotto wins, he would have beaten the BEST fighter on the planet. So by the same token of those saying Shane is the 'man' by token of beating the 'man' who beat the 'man', Cotto is now the 'man' for beating the 'man' (say all that 5x fast). Goes w/o saying.

This isn't a mismatch in any way. Cotto is the underdog (possibly mistakenly). If Cotto wins, he would have one of the most impressive resumes around, with his only loss in question.

He'd be beating a naturally smaller guy, however if he beats Pac, and he SHOULD, he'll probably get Mayweather, if he beats him, then Cotto is an absolute #1 P4P.

Cotto has already faced the thoughest competition for any WW, but to be #1 you got to beat the best, not # 4's and 6's

According to The Ring a clear win for Cotto over Pacquiao woud put him as the P4P king. The people that make this ratings said it, so I have no doubt in my mind that Cotto will be the P4P #1 after he beats Pacquiao.
