I've got no problem with people saying they think that Dawson can beat Hopkins. It's just these people that say ****** things like Hopkins would get destroyed by Dawson, and that's why he doesn't want to fight him. It's like they imply that Hopkins is ducking Dawson when it's not a case of Hopkins being afraid of him. He is just exploring his options. And with Adamek maybe moving up to Heavyweight, a fight with the winner of the rematch between Johnson and Dawson seems more realistic for Bernard.
Hopkins wants Dawson v Johnson winner

im actually really surprised by b-hops decision.
if he fights dawson (who i fancy to come through the fight johnson realtively easily) then i think he will lose. maybe b-hop looks at him and thinks dawson is still a little green, hes a southpaw (and b-hopnormally does well against them) and he still has flaws that b-hop can do exploit.
but ultimately i think dawson is the sort of large, athletic, quick fighter that hopkins simply won't do well against (i.e. RJJ, taylor). i see hopkins giving him a few problems but dawson will pull out the decision followed by crys of robbery from bernard and his small army of followers.Comment

Prime v Prime. Hopkins wins imo.
Hopkins is 44 now though, and will probably be 45 if he does face Dawson/Johnson...Comment

Yeah. I wasn't implying that he can't fight on the inside at all. I just meant that the reason he will have problems with Glen Johnson and Bernard Hopkins (if the fight happens) is because that is those other guys' territory and they are better at it. And a poster earlier in the thread said that Dawson needs to use his attributes which are his reach advantage and his jab. He does have a decent uppercut. But he often times sacrifices defense for it and it causes him to get tagged.Comment

Dawson would be too fast for Hopkins and win by UD. A fight against Johnson is a much better match-up for Hopkins. I'd pick hop to beat Johnson.Comment
