    Where is Mesi?

What happened to Joe Mesi? Did he leave boxing for good? What a mistake of him to choose politics instead. He lost the nomination for...senator, was it? Before he first retired he looked like a really hot prospect. Ko'd DaVarryl Williamson in 1 round. Nobody ever did that, before or since. And beat up that disgusting Jorge Luis Gonzalez. I so enjoyed watching that. It was up on some site before, dunno if it still is. But that Jirov fight took everything out of him.

Dude wasn't the same when he came back. Brain injuries are no joke.

from what I understand he's fit enough to fight & the best doctors cleared him but where he is a draw is in buffalo.he put 15000-20000 people in the arena there but the new York state athletic commision wouldn't sanction any of his future fights.so he figured why bother.I'm sure Nevada & California wouldn't give him a licence either.he was fighting in small states with minimal support so he new becoming world champion was not going to happen.he retired again.

A brain injury is still a brain injury. He did the right thing to retire from boxing. Mesi was decent but nothing special. Had he stepped up and fought the best he would've lost anyway.

^^^ agreed he had a great punch and good speed but as Vassiliy Jirov showed a good technical fighter would destroy him.
He's lucky it wasn't Lewis or a Klitschko that he fought that night.
