  • Cotto's belt on the line!!

Because I'm new. I don't have the posts to put up a link. Lol. But apparently Micheal Marely spoke today with Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, lawyer and president of the World Boxing Organization, and here is what he had to say about the Pacquiao-Cotto fight:

“No matter what happens, I assure you that this will be a WBO welterweight title fight. End of story.”

Can't the title be vacated by Cotto if he really feels like sticking it to them? That wouldn't fall under the "no matter what" scenario.

Cotto holds more of the chips imo.

As a Cotto fan, I understand the notion of not wanting it to be a title fight, due to all the concessions Cotto made for Pacquaio

But as a fight fan, I couldn't call Cotto a champion if he indeed does lose the fight, so with that said, the belt needs to be on the line no matter what.

I am a cotto fan and I would love to see the belt on the line.
If Manny wins, he will be champion in 7 divisions. Who does not want to see that happen? I do.

I think it is Oscar De La Hoya who does not want to see that belt on the line.

I hope the belt is put up.

I feel bad because I want both fighters to win for different reasons.
I will just have to sit back and let what ever happens, happen and just enjoy the show. I will not be disappointed in the outcome either way.

He could vacate, but then he'd have to fight for ANOTHER vacant title.
