Style-wise, what former boxer does Manny Pacquiao remind you of? I'm just wondering b/c I feel that at this point, Pacquiao's style is for the most part very unique to himself. Can anyone name from other eras a style that appeared similar to pacquiao's. I'd be interested in checking out some of their fights.

Your question explains why Manny is so hard to train for. I have beat my head up trying to make a comparison and I can't make anything more than a little bit this guy and a little bit that guy mixed with some of this and that. He throws punches from the most unconventional angles and generates power with either hand regardless of his balance. The best I can come up with is something fictional. How about a 140 lb Rocky Balboa from the Clubber Lang era. -
He used to be famous for having bad balance, but i think his balance is now fully exceptional. He's very good at throwing his weight around behind most of his punches. It may appear to be terrible balance cause he's constantly throwing his body around and in different directions but it is to his benefit. I wonder what Bert Sugar would say. I'm sure someone can come up with one name.. Or perhaps he's just made his style his own.Your question explains why Manny is so hard to train for. Balboa is decent, but Balboa went almost out of his way to get punched in the head. Lately Pacquiao hasn't been very hittable at all.Your question explains why Manny is so hard to train for. The Balboa thing was mainly sarcasm. I never meant he had bad balance. I meant he had awkward balance, meaning his punches do not always come from the conventionally balanced punching positions that would be taught from an early age by someone like a Duva or Steward.
I tell you, I see a blazing fast version of Gatti before McGirt got a hold of him. I mean the raw and reckless Gatti. I think Pac is reckless the same way except he is 100 times faster which enables him to land better and not get hit like Gatti did because Pac is able to get out of the box before the counter comes back. Still not an ideal comparison but along the lines though.Comment

Pac is one of a kind. He's original. When I first saw him with the 1st bbarrera fight, I thought this guy has the SRL speed with Duran's ferociousness. Since then he's improved a lot. I don't know how to describe him anymore. Maybe I just called him the GreatestStyle-wise, what former boxer does Manny Pacquiao remind you of? Pac doesnt really have a style to be honest, what hes doing is very simple, but his aggression and power make it very difficult to stop, whoever said tyson is wrong, Tyson had far more head movement and also killed you on the inside as well as to the body, pac doesnt resemble tyson at all.
Pac is pac, his own style modeled after himself with added improvements every fight.Comment
