i didnt start watching it until i was older... cant even remember what the first main fight i watched was... but i missed a ****load of fights (have since gone back and watched hundreds) but in all honesty i've only been a hardcore fan for maybe 3-4 yrs.... my first PPV that i bought/had in my own place was pac v morales III.... up until then my bro-in-law got all the fights.

its weird cuz even my older siblings and parents dont really see why i watch it or what the big deal is, but its been my fave sport since, i watch it more regularly than i do football... and my team just won the ****in super bowl...

but i guess its better late than never....
same story with me....i've always like the sport of boxing but never had any cable or nothing growing up so i didn't know what was going on......

but when i finally got the internet and cable, i was looking up who was the best boxer today and it was manny pacqiuao and floyd mayweather jr that was the two mention.

so i watch some of there fights and it got me more intrested in the sport...then i started to look at more fighters and reserch my history on the sport

now i can't ****ing get enough of the sport.....it one of the best sports i'll ever enjoy watching.

What made me a hardcore fan? Two words: ALI-TYSON.

Ever since i was a kid i've been watching boxing. In fact, anything that had to do with fighting i would watch, but it was boxing that captivated me from jump street. I always appreciated the delicacy and aesthetics of fist fighters. That ***** is fcukin raw.

When i was younger younger, i used to like wrestling, but when i realized it was fake i started leaning towards boxing a whole lot more. I used to hit the bag all the fcukin time when i was a kid, teaching myself how to box.

I remember watching Tuesday night fights on USA Network, Friday Night Fights on ESPN, HBO boxing, Tyson, ALI fights, Boxing on CBS sports...all that *****. I used to watch boxing on cable with my grandfather back in the mid 80s

I just love fighting in general, but boxing is the ultimate form of fighting., IMO Something about it that just makes me wanna scrap, that's why they call me Squabbles.

            sweet Pea and Floyd?

Which one was it? Did Sweet pea start it? Bhop-tito started it? Sweet pea was already retired.

            Very confusing answer dominicano.

I can't remember what started it for me. I've been watching boxing since Wide world of sports, and Ali's legend was so strong back then, everybody watched boxing. So a couple of my boys from my block and I went to the Uptown Boxing Gym (RIP) in my neighborhood in New Orleans. I trained for awhile and got pounded by this big ass kid in an amateur fight (i was real young, prob like 13)- Then I started playing a lot of basketball at school and on the street so boxing took a little back seat, until Tyson came around and we were talking boxing all day on the courts and at my jobs.

My earliest memories are being in awe of Hagler in the late 80s and Chavez in the early 90s in the late I got back into it, and really got hooked in the mid 90s with Tyson, Sweet Pea, Roy. Oscar, Evander, Kostya v Phillips. etc...

Vinny Pazienza (when he broke his next, that whole story drew me in as well).
