Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, Joe louis, these are the guys that come right off the bad when you think about great heavies losing to much inferior opposition when in their prime.

you have to look at a fighter for what he is not what he was IMO.

also keep in mind, wlads only REAL loss was to sanders. he gassed out against purrity before he even really hit the scene, and it was obvious he was drugged or seriously ill when he fought brewster. sanders caught wlad good... what else can you say? sanders fell off the map before wlad could get a rematch. no one really hounds lewis about his loss to mccall, which is just as bad. its part of boxing!

the klitschkos give a wild division a little bit of stability, be happy for them i say.
Actually no, Wlad has lost legitimately three times. Let's not confuse the issue.

This idiot that made the thread thinks Wlad quit against Chris Byrd.

also wlad ko'd chris byrd in their second meeting, and beat him horribly their first.

vitali quit against chris byrd in their meeting. chris byrd was getting beat, but vitali tore all sorts of **** in his arm and had to have surgery after the fight. he probably should have just went the last little bit, as byrd couldnt have done anything.

who cares about the purrity loss, no one cares about it cause he wasnt even on anyones radar yet...

and rewatch the lamon brewster fight. do you honestly think wlad was just out of shape? his blood sugar level was like 4x higher than normal after the fight. plus just look at him, there is a difference between being tired and being a zombie. something was wrong with him - as for the loss, should it be a loss on his record? of course. should people regard the loss as wlad sucking? no. wlad lost that fight cause he was ****ed up, brewster didnt have anything to do with it, he was about to get put out.

I agree that wlad hasn't had anyone great to beat for sure. Not his fault, lennox is my fav heavy in my lifetime but he also had 2 bad losses like the other poster said. I still can't believe how fat he came in to the rahman fight

Wlad was demolished in the Brewster fight, he was not drugged if he were drugged he wouldn't be able to knock Brewster down.

Wlad has lost to two fighters while anywhere near his prime, Brewster and Sanders. I'd say both are better than Buster Douglas.
