Haye didn't lose to Valuev in his last fight for a start!

        He had his chance.

        And another one.

        Move on.

Holyfield deserves more of a 2nd chance than he does his 3rd chance. What is this, close fight then rematch several times until eventually the challenger wins?

It's time for something new, we don't have all decade.

This fiasco clearly demonstrates just how corrupt and bass ackwards the WBA is. If John Ruiz isn't making threats because he wants to be paid to step aside and actually thinks his recent activity warrants a title shot then it also demonstrates just how delusional Ruiz is.

Ruiz is and always has been a marginally talented club fighter who's been able to manipulate corrupt sanctioning bodies into granting him fights his talent, record, and even recent activity don't warrant. He's already lost to Valuev twice and he's done nothing of merit to warrant a third bout so why is Ruiz petitioning the WBA?

My guess is money. Ruiz has got to know, as the rest of us do, that he's far to old and untalented not to mention boring to pose a threat to any real fighter. I believe that Ruiz could care less about a title shot and hopes to be paid by either King, Valuev, or Haye to step aside. Should Haye defeat Valuev I wonder will Ruiz be as confident as he is when he's calling out Valuev?

For all the misteps and bad moves Haye has allegedly taken and had over the past year, I was really looking forward to watching Haye dismantle Valuev and restore some type of order to the WBA side of things. Valuev is just as untalented as Ruiz and relies solely on his size to win. I really want to see him retired as much as I do Ruiz.

Ruiz should show some dignity here and step aside and take a long hard look in the mirror and at the fighters he's challenging. If he thinks he that good why not challenge Wladimir or Vitali? Ruiz is a joke and so is the WBA for even allowing something like this to happen. Ruiz doesn't belong in the top 30 fighters of the division let alone a mandatory position. Sad...really sad.

can we get a petition going to get ruiz banned or something?

he should never even get near to a shot at the belt again, let alone be mandatory

Some months ago, John Ruiz made an official complaint to the WBA about the judging in his last fight with Valuev (Aug 2008). It was actually a close fight, I didn't see any clear winner. So to placate him, the WBA officially declared Ruiz the next mandatory.

So, like him or not, Ruiz has a case. He doesn't deserve a world title shot any more than David Haye, but the WBA could be successfully sued if they don't demand that Valuev fight Ruiz first. David Haye is not even ranked by the WBA at the present time.

What will likely happen is that they'll have Valuev fight his mandatory Ruiz, and if he decides to, Haye will fight the winner of Ruiz-Valuev sometime in 2010.

Valuev clearly beat Ruiz the last time and then he clearly lost to Holyfield. It should have been Wlad Holyfield for the WBA title.

That's if Haye wants to fight this decade.

Anyway I presume the WBA will finally **** Ruiz over and let Valuev fight him OR worst case scenario Valuev just drops the bogues belt and fights Haye anyway.

That's a possibility, but will Haye want to fight him if it's not for the WBA title?
