On a related topic, does anyone know if the WBA has ruled on Chagaev's "champion in recess" status? Don't they have to clarify who the real champ is, before sanctioning a bout for the WBA title?...

His "champion in recess" status was lost when he took the fight against Wlad for the IBF/WBO straps. Nevermind that nobody beat him for it.

Sanctioning bodies are ****** but the WBA has gotten downright moronic.
