Vitali should fight John Ruiz on Sep 12

Ruiz would be KOed and then permanently out of the heavyweight picture.

Apparently Arreola has been in discussions to be part of a HBO doubleheader in early October. His opponent is supposed to be Maskaev, and the other fight will be Dzinziruk-Williams.

Chambers and Povetkin are not available, Minto isn't really good enough and has another fight scheduled anyway, Johnson is fighting Solis, Toney is too old and too small, Chagaev just lost, JC Gomez and Sam Peter were just defeated, Rahman has retired, Boytsov isn't really ready yet, Dimitrenko just lost...

    That leaves John Ruiz!

You actually want to see Ruiz in there with Vitali? Now who's "undeserving".

Arreola is the only one Vitali should be facing - and I don't even like fatboy.

Arreola would be better, but may not be available...

I think it would be good for the heavyweight division if Vitali fought Ruiz. They are from the same generation of fighters, with Ruiz being a former world titleholder. It would be an intriguing matchup.

Boytsov's next fight hasn't been annouced yet. I imagine it will be in October or November.

It'd be hella weird if he wasn't. Who could he possibly want more, instead of a chance at the champ? Especially if offered.

I see nothing good about 2 old men fighting each other in a guaranteed slow, plodding match with lots of hugging and pawing. Jeez, talk about zero excitement... Who would give Vitali any credit for beating a never-was in Ruiz, anyway? The man's been KO'ed brutally by Tua and lost to a genuine(!) blown-up LHW in Jones. Not to mention all his other losses because he's just ****.

Arreola, on the other hand, would be a hyped fight with some excitement (even with fatboy in there) and a young, undefeated career on the line.

Ruiz has only been stopped once.

After the Tua fight, he came back and won a world title.

There you go, completely missing the point. I only used the stoppage as emphasis, to go with his seven other losses.

Tunney, Ruiz is ****. Don't be a nadgerhugger and try to pass this off as a great fight, because it's not.
