How soon till Mexicans start dominating MMA???

it's doubtful mexicans can dominate mma.

mexicans and mexican-americans are not big into wrestling , brazilian-jiu-jitsu/judo or muay thai.

boxing has very limited use in mma.

Mexicans will never kick ass in MMA cause they're old school machos who would think that MMA is about two ***ots rolling with each other on the ground(which is not true). At best, they would think it's glorified pro-wrestling(Mexico has good pro wrestling).

Plus Jiu Jitsu is too expensive, you have to bring Brazilian masters who are expensive as hell. If MMA is brought in Mexico and if Mexicans like it, i think they should kick ass, especially in the small weight classes. Those Japanese like Shinichi Kojima or others are the most overrated athletes i've ever saw.

they have a lot of smaller mma cards operating in mexico too.

the problem i see is that jiu-jitsu , judo , wrestling , etc. is not that big in mexico though that could change. that's why i give mexican-americans a bigger chance of making an impact , with wrestling available in schools and judo and bjj gyms cropping up all over the place.

another thing is the size factor. the lowest weight division in the ufc is 155. (middleweight in boxing) i think mexicans who join mma (like asian fighters) would have to fight in the second tier like WEC or japan.

28 million people is a ton of people. MMA is spreading in Mexico big time and Dana White was even saying that Mexico is the next place where the UFC will put it's recources into.

In about 5 years, there will be a **** load of Mexicans in mma, count on this.

First off, trainers will come if the talent is there. Whenever there is money to be made, people will come.

Second, the main reason that mma doesn't have that many weight classess is because the sport isn't that big yet. The more smaller fighters come into the sport, the more weight classess you will see.

It's all a progression and it takes time but there's no doubt that in Mexico there's a ton of untapped talent.

the japanese love little guys fighting not so much in the u.s.

if mexico was closer to japan where they pay big money for the 125 , 135 and 145 lb. guys then it'd be easier for mexicans to make a career in mma.

oh definitely. i'm just saying it's harder.

in japan , judo is taught in high schools and college. judo is big there.

in the u.s. , same with wrestling.

in brazil , there's so many bjj schools.

grappling is so important that almost everyone else is at a disadvantage.

it's gonna be hard to get mexican fighters to leave boxing for mma because generally there's more money in boxing than mma.

If DLH, Ortiz, Vazquez, Morales, Gurerro, Julio Diaz, etc. were in MMA, at least they can tap out and quitting would not be such a big deal.
