you need timing and speed...and not just hand speed but foot speed and ring generalship..fighters and higher weights think just cause their bigger and stronger they will win...pacman uses his legs to get in and out and has the mike tyson bob and weave down pack not to mention he's a 2 handed fighter now.....cotto will have to use his legs to cut off the ring and try to back pacman up on the ropes..cause in the center of the ring he wont be able to out box pacman cause he's to damn fast..but on the ropes pacman will be in trouble..cotto has the tools to win..now he just needs the right game plan...the more i think about this fight the more i see fireworks..this will be a classic

Two reasons PAC has been able to do what it is he has been doing. SPEED and POWER.....Hit wiht out getting hit and hitting someone with a punch they don't see coming. Tyson was a hard puncher power in both hands. In his hay day he had great speed and movement. he was able to bounce side to side dodge the jab get inside and hit you from an angle where you couldn't fire back then get out before you could return punches I mean that is if you were still standing....PAC has the same combination of speed power and quickness. he creates angles and gets out of dodge before you can return fire I mean that is if you are still standing

This fight with Cotto will be a good test to see if he can with stand the pressure but dont be surprised if PAC is the one putting on the pressure....Lefty

Every reasonable PacFan will tell you that Floyd and JMM are the biggest threats to Pac's throne

Does that mean they would win, no but their styles are suited to beat Pac even though Pac would probably be betting favourite against both

Brute strength isn't the only thing that's gotten Cotto to where he is. He didn't necessarily use brute strength to beat Shane Mosley, he used his ring smarts and Boxing skills using his jab, countering, and landing the flusher shots.

I think the idea is people are seeing Cotto's last performances against Margarito and Clottey and saying he's shot. But look in comparison the style match ups compared to the type of fight Pacquiao brings. Cotto can contend with speed. Pacquiao IMO isn't THE fastest fighter we've ever seen but its more on his overall fighting ability. Speed can be contained by an accurate puncher with a jab (which Cotto has).

I'm still on the fence with who I think will win, but neither guy is beating the other with ease. It could come down to sheer will and both have proven they can fight under adversity.
