A belt is just a trinket in this day and age. Khan still needs more experience before he gets in with the best 140 pounders. Salita will be a good start in his American debut, and will allow him to get more rounds on the board before fighting Maidana.

Kotelnik was a wonderful step up for Khan, but you can't expect him to take on huge punchers like Maidana straight away. The only people who want to see Khan fight Maidana, are the ones who want to see him knocked out. He shouldn't fight Maidana before he is ready...and he isn't ready yet. Salita is good, aggressive boxer, with a decent punch, and will be another good step up for Khan.

Khan vs Salita is the best way forward.

Khan reminds of Paulie Malinangigigigiii but without the Cool Hair. Neither one is going to Knock anyone out and i see alot of Decision wins in both their futures. The Difference between the two is the Chin, Paulies is decent while Khans is a little better than Glass Joes in Mike Tysons punchout. They both have good hand speed with Khan having the slight edge but sadly Malinangiigigigii hits harder. I see nothing special in Khan but he can be a solid fighter and champion if he keeps on Roachs plan of staying away from BlackAmerican Fighters. Roach will probably do everything possible to Keep Khan away from Holt, Bradley, and will not even think of putting Khan against Campbell but instead try and get Erik Morales or Chavez Sr to come out of retirement to make his guy look good. Can you Imagine what Victor Oritz would do to Khan if they met or even Maidana for that Matter. Khan is a good fighter and will be around for awhile but as soon as he fights a guy with a good punch he will lose his belt. So Morales, Chavez Sr, and whatever boxer that has been retired for awhile get ready because you should be getting a call from Khan.

Khan needs to fight a couple of good but not that dangerous guys.

Paulie Maglinaggi and then after that maybe Urango?

Khan has plenty of power. He's no knockout artist, but he is capable of hitting hard. He used his power a lot better when he was on the way up, but in doing so left himself wide open - something he can't afford to do with the chin he has. Roach has taught him to box effectively from the outside, which plays to his strengths and his weaknesses better, but has taken away his offensive weapons for the time being. Not many fighters can put real power behind fast flurry combinations. Pacquiao is one such fighter, but he is exceptional. Eventually Roach will coach Khan's power into his new fighting style, but it will take time.

How about Ortiz? Doubt if GBP would pit him right now with Kahn. But if he is targeting a name with a relatively low risk, Ortiz might be it. Who know what that KO loss to Madiana did to his confidence? One thing I like about Kahn though, he sure is confident ... even when people write him off after that Prescott KO. I like both but I want to see if Ortiz has learned something from the loss.

No i ask you if you are being serious. Khan does not have any kind of power in either hand. He throws alot of Combos like he is still in the Olympics going for points. Even when he combos to the body is nothing but Flash without substance. IF he doesnt have power by now he will never have it. You cannot learn to get power you either got it or you dont. And Khan does not have it. He is a very good fighter and i respect his boxing abilities but if he needs to learn something its to have a Better chin.

What will happen if Khan ever steps in with the likes of, Torres, Holt, Bradley, Campbell, Maidana, Ortiz, Urango to name a few....? Maybe even Prescott again if he steps up to LW. He has fought his last 2 fights at 136, and he lost to a man in his last fight who has only lost to Timothy Bradley and unbeaten Saul Alvarez...

I bet khan will be by Warren for a long time now.

Khan does have power. You couldn't see it in the Kotelnik fight because of his great defence. Just like you couldn't see Maidana's power when he fought Kotelnik.

And you have probably only seen one or two of his fights. I have seen every single one of his fights going back to the olympics. Khan isn't a huge puncher, but he has enough to put his oppoenents on ther arse from well timed shot, or score a tko.
