I guess Pacquiao knows that if he beats Cotto, some people like myself won't recognize it as a real title acheiving accomplishment. The belt that Cotto has around his waist wouldn't be there if he ever fought Paul Williams.

Ha ha, j/p with you Gab. Some take this forum way too seriously.

I read somewhere else that Pac was offered something to sweeten the deal enough for him to accept the 145 lb catch weight. I was thinking it might be a shot at the ww title, but maybe Pac was happy just to get the bigger purse split?
Pac was never after the title anyway. He just wanted to be on a big fight with a big payday. When he saw how loyal and how big Cotto's fans are, that's when he decided to fight Cotto.

I even think the 143 lb catchweight demand was not for Cotto but for Arum to give something extra for the fight to push through.

I think the title would be good. Why not? Then if both fighers (Floyd and Manny) win then it will be for the title hopefully at 147 but arm and roaches ***get asses will demand a lot while ducking mosley. However. I don't see how cotto can win this fight, I was at the Mosley fight and he was much better then but pacquiao will turn him and get through his defence and once cotto is hurt he will back up with manny raining on him. and Mannys chin is underrated, Cotto is a little strange with his. I would want Cotto to win but I have to say manny with another electrifying win.

I think that might be the real reasons why Pacquiao waited a little bit for the contract to get signed.

Thats what Pac did in Hatton fight. Arum gave him 52-50. It turned out Pac was right. US PPV 900,000 UK PPV 350,000. Arum has big reasons for this fight to push through. He is willing to give in to Pac b.c he wants to keep Cotto in Top Rank
