Might I say peter was grossly overweight for the fight just like all of vitalis opponents since 2002.lewis was out of shape but peter was too fat, gomez was fat, kirk Johnson was 30lbs over his best weight, sanders was fat & 20 lbs over, danny Williams was 270 which is way too much.it's kind of funny that vitali gets so much hype but really when larry donald & vaughn bean are the only guys that came in shape & were both outweighed by 40lbs it's laughable that his nuthuggers actually think he's an ATG.....LOL! His resume sucks!
Don't forget Gomez, he came in at a lower wieght than he had been in years, Yes his resume will continue to suck to guys like you even after he ko's Haye because you will say, so what he knocked out another former cruiserwieght. But you are the same guys that are saying he will lose to Haye but won't give him credit when he wins, just like the Gomez fight, don't forget this thread is about Peter, and it doesnt matter what kind of shape Peter gets into, he is stll a very beatable one demensional fighter.

actually I'd give him credit for beating haye.when gomez was cw champ I believe the weight limit was 190 so gomez really was way over his normal fighting weight.the first time I saw gomez on the mesi/williamson undercard I wasn't that impressed.haye is a natural around 210-215 but just had to make the 201 limit.haye is by far the best conditioned athlete he's faced in years.I'll give him credit for sure.I'm not a naysayer when I guy does a good job.I've just always thought vitali wasn't that good & I think wlad is better & evolved as a boxer(too boring but he still wins).vitali is one dimensional & has never been tested by a guy who can move & punch with both hands.he fights lewis when lennox is 35 or under it may have been a bad night for vitali but that didn't happen so I won't "what if" that fight...I think it would be his best win if he beat haye.

I won't give him much credit if he beats Haye because i think Haye is a very easy win for him, Haye is overated at Hw, beating a past his prime Barrett does not convince me he is ready for the big boys. Even a shot Barrett put him on the deck. Peter to me is his biggest win cause he haden't fought in 4 years, took the fight without a tune up and dominated a belt holder, when most of the experts were picking him to lose.

That's great, Sam Peter will finally save the HW division from his demons. With his slickness and his wondeful technique, the African feline will shut everybody down. GO SAMMY, "undisputed heavyweight shampoo of da world, WHO NECH?".

Ali = the Sam Peter of the 70ies and not the other way around. Period.

JCG was not in great shape for that fight. He might have trained slightly harder than he had done in the past 2-3 years, but that's not saying much. He just didn't look well conditioned. He's probably at his best below 220lbs. That's not to say he would have won, but it certainly wasn't the fast, combination punching Gomez who fought SSS and ran rings around him.

Making excuses for the love of your life?

Gomez said before the fight he was in the best shape of his life.

If you think Vitali = SSS, then you don't have a clue about the heavyweight division.

not saying it WILL happen but if Wlad can come back from the brink and ressurect his career, i certainly think Peter could in SOME fashion. He needs a better trainer(not knocking Pops anderson at all just saying he needs a better trainer for him) and a dictionary to look up the word DIET. Peters whole thing is his one punch power. thats why if he was in shape he would be a threat(at least early on) to anyone in the Heavies...especially today.

I wasn't comparing SSS to Klitschko. But that was not the same Gomez we saw against Klitschko as the one we saw in the Sam fight. Dude, Gomez's ideal weight is somewhere between 210-215lbs. That title shot came too late. Gomez didn't have the hunger.

Man I hope this means we finally get Sam Peter vs Tye Fields. Perfect for an undercard fight on a Top Rank PPV.
