I say JMM because this would be a much bigger upset IMO. If Pac beats Cotto, I think people would be surprised but not shocked like if JMM beat Mayweather.

Still has to be Pacquaio due to Mayweather's long lay off. However JMM won't beat Mayweather so we don't have to worry about that.

We would have to wait and see what happens in Pacquiao-Cotto before we could make a real judgment. Marquez is already number 2 P4P right? Beating Mayweather + the closeness of the two Pac fights strengthens his already legit argument as P4P number 1.

This is a big IF. IF this were to happen co #1's maybe? They'd have to fight to settle it, but coming into the fight I'd still say Pacman.

Beating Prime Mayweather > Beating declining weight drained Cotto

I agree, until the fight Pac would still be the "official" #1 though as he has a win over JMM and Cotto is an active, ranked fighter.

Fact of the matter is both men are coming up from lower weights and taking on WW's. Pac has been up in weight for a couple (lopsided albet) of fights but he's taking on the younger and active fighter.

Floyd is a very very small WW

Difference between Pac - Cotto is 10 - 12 lbs

Difference between JMM - Floyd is 7 - 9 lbs

Pac's victory is greater, Floyd isn't as big as his haters like to think

If JMM beats Mayweather, it'll probably be the biggest upset in recent history. Tops Douglas/Tyson, in my opinion. So yeah, if he wins, he moves to number one, and Pacman can't get out of another Marquez fight unless he retires. Then if Marquez KO's Pacman, he's probably going to be in the top 5 ATG in most people's book.
