Clottey won and Cotto looked like he lost after the fight. The judges say whatever they are payed to say but the damage is done. Cotto takes way too much damage everytime he faces someone at the top level. And don't come telling me everyone does, take Hopkins or Mayweather for instance. Ok different styles. Exactly. Watched it over and over, Cotto didn't land much, in the middle of the ring, Cotto lost almost every exchange, he did his thing when he had Clottey against the ropes but again, didn't land much. Clottey made a great point, when he said, "How could I lose the last 2, when Cotto ran", if you watch that fight, you'll see that Cotto straight out ran the last two. It was damn near impossible to land.

I'm not gonna **** on Cotto, that isn't the Cotto I'm used to seeing. I came up with 3 conclusions,

1. Cotto had an offnight.
2. Margarito ruined Cotto.
3. Maybe Clottey is that damn good.

I was leaning towards number 2.

It does but it's no excuse. Do you know how often that happens? It happens allot, Cotto could see out of the eye. Sure it hurts but they are pros and deal with it. I'm talking about being tagged by wide hooks one after the other, I'm talking about retreating without throwing punches, I'm talking about gassing out after only a few rounds. Cotto has taken too much damage already and damage in boxing IS ALWAYS cumulative in effect. Just compare Cotto who fought Mosley to Cotto who fought Clottey. The guy is supposed to be entering his prime age-wise but the sense many people have is that Cotto is exiting his prime instead.
