Mucho respect for Hatton for moving up

to fight Mayweather at 147, while he was the lineal 140 lb champ.

I will watch the Pac vs. Cotto fight and of course, root for Manny, but Ricky Hatton just gained back my respect for moving up and challenging Floyd at 147. I just realized how ballsy, although a bit overconfident and overhyped, Hatton was. I apologize to you, sir for my previous posts that demeaned your accomplishments is some way.

Much respect to you, Mr. Hatton. Manny is still my boy, but I lost a bit of respect for him for not moving up to 147 to snatch Cotto's WW belt.

    F^@% catchweight fights!

These will for Cotto's belt. Pac will get his 7th division title wether you like it or not.

Hatton was 143 at the official weigh in. Hatton started at 140.

Pacquiao was 142 at the official weigh in against Oscar. Started at 106 and had a lot of wars at 130 a year ago..

Trying to make that an argument is BS. Run your mouth if Hatton can go up to Supermiddleweight and fight Kessler at a catchweight of 166 lbs.

that was very admirable but he was badly outclassed...he probably figured it wouldn't be that much of a body difference since mayweather isn't a huge ww...he thought he'd be able to pin mayweather and beat him o the inside but that wasnt the case

its not a welterweight title if the max weight is 145..if he wins there will always be an astric no ifs about it

Who's running his mouth, noob? I just explained to you why Ricky gained my respect back. I don't care how much Hatton weighed, the fact is he didn't ask PBF to go down a few pounds.

I always thought that Ricky wasn't at the level of the elite fighters. I even suggested that he was the product of PBF's brillant promotional mind just to justify him cherrypicking Hatton instead of a truel WW. The problem is Ricky and his team believed in his own hype a bit too much. The fact is, he didn't ask PBF to fight as a catchweight was admirable and was the normal thing to do. That's all my point.

Word. I always respected the way Hatton moved up not just in weight, but also class (level of opposition). Especially the way he went to another country to do it, when he clearly had all the support and luxuries of fighting in his home country. After the Tszyu fight (I think most people would agree that was his best win) it would have been real easy for him to stay back in the UK and protect his lineal championship and undefeated record by handpicking opponents. Gotta respect the dude for taking a chance.

he's trippin...manny started out light cuz he was reallly skinny...you move up in weight as your body develops and you get older...oscar did the same fu ckin thing...comparing hatton to move up to fight kessler is a ******ed statement..hatton blows up to 160 in between fights when he isn't training and is on that guiness diet idiot..not after the weigh in
