I agree..stoppages these days are rarely right..always either too late or always too early. Alot of the low profile fights have early stoppages.

I also think a fighter who kind of built a rep for himself as a come from behind winner, even after falling down, has a better chance of getting the nod from the refferee to continue..

they dont stop them to early these days they just did'nt stop them soon enough back then. look at foreman-frazier, that **** was pathetic. its better to have common sense and stop it before somebody gets really hurt and ****ed up for good.

My sentiments exactly. Who is the biggest name in boxing? Muhammad Ali. He is a large part of the reason people think boxing is a terrible sport and a large reasons why fights should be stopped earlier. He was beloved by many but listen to by all. And now he is unable to speak anywhere near the level he was.

Yeah, but he was in heavyweight boxing...
Some of those smaller weight stoppages are too early..

That's true. But sometimes they make good calls and let the fight go on. As was the Pacman - JMM fight. Imagined they stopped that one! I guess it comes down to the individual refs. I watched some of the b/w ESPN Classic fights and I think you had to be knocked down 30-40 times to stop the fight.

Who is the worst person in you guys' opinion for stopping too early and too late?

                  ya

even though i think tszyu would've beat Judah the ref stopped the fight way to early, I mean when they get knocked down, they should count to 10, but whenever their takin brutal punishment without goin down or throwing back then theyt should stop it, but sometimes it pisses me off, if they get knocked down, count to 10,if they up, let em fight, Jay Nady pissed me off in the fight with tszyu and judah1

The thing is he went down twice from one punch which is usually a sign of concussion, which as Nady explained was why he stopped the fight. I know that Judah jumped straight up and that was much of the cause of him going down again, but that is his fault not Nady's. Nady was following the guidelines that have been set out for the referees regarding fighters that go down twice from one punch.
