    How Many People Would Question....

Kotelnik being a World class fighter tonight if he had beaten Khan?

No one would have, but the fact that Khan actually dominated Kotelnik and won a belt. People have to bring up Kotelnik's authenticity as a World class fighter.

Kotelnik is certainly not a European level fighter.

What defines World class in a division like LWW?

According to the Ring magazine, Kotelnik is a Top 5 fighter. Only Pacquiao, Witter and Bradley rank above him.

BoxRec rank him as 6th in the World.

Is it the fact that glass jawed Khan was, only a matter of months ago, obliterated by Prescott and here he is now as a World champion?

But hang on, in a completely different division. Under the tutelage of arguably the best trainer out there. He completely dominated Kotelnik with his workrate and forced Kotelnik to keep guard up at all times.

Where you ranked does not count for ****, its only opinion.

Jeff Lacy was one prolly ranked higher than Kessler before Calzaghe whooped his ass but does that mean he was/is a better fighter ?

But what defines a World class fighter in the LWW division.

You're saying he isn't a World class fighter, he isn't if you compare him to all the greats of LWW. But in this current time, is he?

        1. People didn't think Kotelnik as a genuine world class boxer from the beginning (otherwise so many people wouldn't have said Khan was gonna win when the fight was announced)

        2. People didn't think Khan was a world class boxer from the beginning. I don't even need to explain that part.

So basically, either way it went, people would end up with the same opinions lol

I don't think anyone would make a topic about Kotelnik being a World class fighter if he had won though..

It's probably the fact that Khan won. After Khan got destroyed by Prescott, they thought he'd never beat another boxer again. A few months later he wins a World title and people are going to question how good the belt holder was.

What if Bradley still held titles and Khan beat Bradley. Although it's never going to happen... Would people question how good Bradley is?

Kotelnik is a far, far, better boxer than Jeff Lacy. Khan came in with a gameplan, stuck to it, and pulled out an impressive victory. Nobody has ever dominated Kotelnik the way Khan did.

Kotelnik isn't an elite boxer, but he would give any man at 140 a hard, tough fight. He is world class, nothing more, nothing less.

                A few months?

They thought he would never beat another boxer going into this fight after losing to Prescott?

You have Khan in your avatar but..........what do you actually know lol?

A few months, obviously not the correct timeline. But who cares, it's not the issue here.

Everyone thought Khan's career was over after Prescott.

LOLZ!!!111one you have Khan in your avatar, must mean you're a fan!

Yes but the people writing those ranking did not know that BEFORE he lost to Calzaghe, so you see ranking are pointless to bring up.
