To me these guys are all hype and no heart. Sure Lopez has a good style but what good is it if he keeps fighting guys everyone knows that he can beat? I thought the amateurs was for the amateurs and the pros were for the pros? How long is it going to take until he is ready for Caballero? How many more bums does he have to fight? He could fight 100 bums before Caballero but that doesn't mean he will be ready for him? These young guys need to start fighting the tough ones even if they stand to lose because that helps their experience more than them continuing to fight easy fights. Boxing keeps trying to make a superstar out of these guys without testing them to earn that title. Berto/Ortiz/Lopez are all hype and NO substance. What's the point of being that talented and not going the full distance with it EARLY?
Arum did a good thing with Lopez by throwing him in with a game veteran like Penalosa. But it seems like Lopez doesn't want to step up from that and go that extra mile. The dude is now a bonafied *****. Lopez is an arm pit shaver and an eye brow plucker. How many times does Caballero have to express interest in fighting this cat before the challenge is answered? This fight is only gonna get harder for Lopez if he lets Caballero outgrow the division. Caballero didn't look all that good in his last fight. But it's well documented that he is struggling with weight. Erik Morales never acted like this. He cleaned out 122. Where have the real warriors gone?

I agree JuanMa is doing major damage to his image and young career...If he doesn't fight Cab in his next fight...He's going to get roasted on the streets on the tv in the papers on the radio...everywhere...I know he knows how PR is...Thats why I don't understand.

When I read the title I was like "Hell Yeah" Juanma responded, this fight will happen. Then, when I read the article, how disappointing! Juanma is letting everybody down. I remember that a while back he said that he wanted to unify belts, be undisputed and then move up after doing that in each weight class until becoming the first puertorican to win belts in 4 maybe even 5 divisions. He never mentioned money, he mentioned "LEGACY". Now, I believe he's letting Bob Arum persuade him but the one looking like a ***** or better yet, a maricon is him. If Caballero offered to pay the fees and obviously Juanma will get the bigger purse anyways, why not do it? How can he be wanting to have the same glory and respect that we gave Gomez, Benitez, Trinidad and Rosario when he's not willing to go to battle with the best like they did? F.U.C.K. YOU JUANMA! You are getting on everybody's last nerve!

I think if he don't fight cab he won't sell ticket like in the past, I don't think that arum would allow that, he will make the fight, the old gredy bastard is all about money, he want to sell tickets.

El pendejo no le dijo nada a caballero, ni siquiera mamao, eso es lo q mas me encojona.

Alright, with those two facts on the table, let me just say right now that I love the styles of both fighters. I am more of a Lopez fan, because I'm awed by his power and fighting style. Moving on, I also a serious realist when it comes to putting money on a fight. Before I do that, I look at all angles. All angles, from how easy a guy will cut, to ring experience, to where each guy grew up, (softer childhood means later in the fight they just might ***** up and quit etc) and as far as I can see, this fight at the moment would be outright foolish for Lopez to take.

Lopez shouldn't fight Cab yet. I have high hopes for Lopez...I don't want him to get a bull**** loss against a technical veteran like Cab when he isn't ready for him. Cab has boxed twice the amount of rounds, he has 205 or something and Lopez only has 98. Cab has also been boxing much longer, having made his pro debut in '98, he an 11 year veteran. Lopez only started back in 05. Lopez fights alot more, averaging 6 fights per year with 2005 his debut year having 8 fights. Compare the first part of this post, their opponent's records, and you will truly see that the veteran has the experience advantage over Juanma. It is too early for Juanma to take such a fight. If you are a true Juanma fan and want him to do well on the world level, you will agree with me. This is almost a case of 'The Great White Hype' where that guy beat the current champ ten years ago in the amateurs, then came back pro and his first fight was against teh champ, and he got ktfo, lol.

Compare that to Cab, who fought twice in his debut year, and averages 3-4 fights annually.

I guarantee these numbers are kosher. I may be off by 2-3 on each side but that really is irrelevant considering the sheer volume of wins Cab's opponents have had, offsetting whatever Juanma has done. A betting man cannot ignore that. If there were to fight today, all the smart money would be on Celestino.
Great post bro but let me ask you this....

Then it is extremely foolish for Juanma to ask for a fight agains Vasquez right?

Vazquez has all of what caballero has with more experience. Of course the only negative against Vasquez is his age. So that is enough to trump Vasquez experience and heart? Based on your theory which is a good theory I might add, Lopez should not be seeking a fight with Marquez or Vasquez right??

Why did Benitez become such a great boxing figure? How old was he when he won his first world title. Risk/reward ratio, if Cab is a big risk then the reward is also great.

I wont be buying any more latin fury where juanma is in unless he fights Cab or another worthy oponent. Why should I waste my money to see the same fight as before... Juanma beats another tomato can. ... not worth it..

First off, thanks for the compliment and actually taking the time to read the long post, lol. Few people have such attention spans here.

You answered your own question. It is definately enough to trump experience and heart. The answer is in the numbers...
