            hopkins fought 16 out of 20 defenses against top 10 ranked fighters in the ring

            calzaghe fought 8 out of 21 defenses against top 10 ranked fighters in the ring and one of those 8 was manfredo lol!

                quite simply calzaghes hopkins reign at MW included 3 losses

                when the time came for both fighters to pass their first big test one of them failed (hopkins) and the other didn't (calzaghe), when it came to defending their titles against the younger heir to the throne again one of them failed (jermain taylor) and one of them didn't (calzaghe).

                    It entirely depends on who you defend it against. I mean what if you fight a guy who just got stripped of his title and it doesn't end up being a unification fight? Should that be held against him? It depends on who a fighter defends against, unifications aren't everything even though they are always good at clarifying a division.
