I think he could do it, though he'd probably have to work on his power to compensate, even if it comes with the cost of some speed loss. PWill is not unstoppable as people make it seem, but I'm not so sure Cotto can beat him. Any way you cut it reach eventually becomes near impossible to overcome especially when the guy with the advantage is throwing 100+ punches a round. However, by doing he leaves himself open for the counter, A LOT. That would be the only way I could see Cotto winning is counter-punching, if he could get his defense up to snuff and up the power in his punches I could see him being at or near the top of the division.

because of his height and reach.5'7 and 67″ isn't enough to fight in 154.
it is a Dilemma of cotto..
YES. Ive been saying this for a while now. the weight drained Cotto from JrWW is fighting the same way Cotto been fighting in his last few tough fights. I'm thinking he's starting to have weight issues. go up to 54 and go after those guys, retirement is around the corner for him.

Paul Williams fights at 154, so I say no. If he somehow did managed to fight at 154, he would duck Williams

Doesn't Williams also fight at 147?

I say why the hell not, if Mayweather wants no part of him and he's already beat the top guy, Mosley, at WW.

If he ducked Williams at 147, he will surely duck him at 154

How on earth has he been ducking a guy at WW, who's been fighting at 154 and 160?

Since Williams has become relevant, Cotto has fought Judah, Mosley, Margarito and Clottey. Meanwhile Williams has been losing to a guy Cotto already stopped.

I think he can probably beat a Cory Spinks or Cintron. But I also think he is one of those fighters that is to big to make 140 and to little to compete at 154. I think he is in the middle

Williams called out Cotto after he beat Margarito. Cotto ducked him.
Williams called out Cotto after avenging loss to Carlos Q, he ducked him.
Williams called out Cotto after beating Phillips, he ducked him
Williams called out Cotto after beating Winky, Cotto ducks him and fights Clottey

Didn't Cotto lose to the same guy Williams schooled. Better yet he was forced to take two knees and he quit. Williams said he was willingly to make 147, yet Clottey is a better fight

If it don't make money, it don't make sense. Paul Williams couldn't draw flies.
