Ever since the Marquez rematch, Pacquiao's people have been calculating with who they're picking out for Pacquiao.
First they pick the weakest link at 135 to pick up a "World Title". No Casamayor (Ring Magazine), Juan Diaz/Campbell (WBA, IBF, WBO titles), no Guzman.
Then they smell a opportunity with the Cashcow Delahoya. Floyd retires and Oscar needs a big name with a little frame (Post-Hopkins Ko loss/5'9 Mayorga, 5'8 Mayweather, 5'7 Stevie Forbes, 5'6 Pacquiao). Can't blame Pacquiao's people for that one, anybody would take it. BUT Oscar has to make a weight he hasn't fought in over a nearly a decade. Good deal. But they first got to see him win a decision taking a beating to the face against lil Stevie Forbes. Roach knew he was damaged goods.
No dispute with the Hatton victory. It was quick without controversy at Ricky's natural weight and he had some momentum after the Malignaggie victory. Perhaps the same momenturm Kostya Tszyu had dominating slick Sharmba MItchell before fighting Ricky Hatton?
Now he wants to fight the best welterweights out there but wants to turn them into Junior-welterweights. Is that how it work now? Isn't the smaller guy supposed to come up if he feels confident in his skillset/abilities unstead of the big guys turning themselves into little guys?
What if Wlad Klitschko was forced to come down to 200lbs to fight a P4P great light-heavyweight? Would that make it a legit win over Wlad. Or forcing Hagler to come down to Welterweight to fight LEonard?
