I don't think Manny wants to fight Cotto. He probably will or would
but you can tell that he is not enthused by it because all he talks about
is Mayweather. I don't think I ever heard him mention Cotto, and if he
did, it wasn't more than he mentioned Mayweather. Lets see how this
soap opera unfolds.

Seemed like an interesting way to set up some golden, memorable fights between 140-147 for the next two years. Instead, we may end up with nothing because of ridiculous men and their pride.

Years ago, guys fought because they loved to do it and they were concerned about their legacy. The money followed.

Now guys fight because they want the money and could care less what mark they leave in the sport.

This is just part of the "promotion" for the fight and all these news practically saying the same thing, or nothing new at all, is just trying to continue to build the expectation and the hype of the fight.

Don't forget that it was Manny who instructed Arum to make the fight happen after the Clottey fight. The only thing that Cotto had publically demanded was the 145 lbs weight limit and it was granted. i haven't seen on this forum neither in the Puerto Rican press where he has demande and type of split for the money and even one of Pacquiao's advisors said that the offer that has been put in place and was going to be handed to Pacquiao himself was a very good one.

This "promotion" for the fight is actually working because it is creating expectation, controversy and is adding to the fight hype.
