Anyway, Ali was no stranger to fighting Europeans - see Cooper, Bugner (2x), Lubbers, Blin, Mildenberger, London, Cooper. Not to mention Canadians and an Argentinian.

Anyway, even if Arreola is a tad nationalistic, so what? Boxing is a nationalistic sport. Nobody gets bent out of shape when Pacquiao says he's fighting for his country. Or when Agbeko said he was fighting for the pride of Ghana.
yeah but the difference is pacquiao dont hate or disrespect fighters from other countries like the americans do to europeans and neither does agbeko. americans always go around saying that europeans are all just hype jobs bums and etc etc, and that world champions only count if they are american and european world champs or only euro champs and etc etc

yeah i guess but except for ali, you know not many europeans and americans fought in the hws. 90% of the time it was american vs american. im not saying that it would be any different because if they fought euros because the americans was the best back then. but they fact is they for the most of the time didnt. its like nowadays with the klitschkos shure they face alot of europeans (even though they whoop many americans to) but thats because today europeans especcially eastern europeans rule the heavyweight division. that doesnt make them european champs like areolla says because then almost all americans heavyweight champs up till the 90s where only american champs.

I think Sergei D. will be a tough fight for P-Will. But the fact that Paul is going after someone with such little name recognition like that makes me question how much Goosen wants Williams to fight Pavlik. I presume they've given up on that route because of Arum's stubbornness. It's understandable if that is the case, but that's the best Middleweight fight right now.

I know Arreola is good enough to beat Maskaev. And you know he'll stop Maskaev in dramatic fashion unlike Vlad would if Vlad fought him.

Maskaev is too old to present Arreola with much of a challenge at this point, but it should be entertaining, while it lasts. Dzinziruk is a bit of a poor mans Winky, so I don't think he stands much of a chance against Williams. He doesn't have the power to hurt him, nor the movement to Quintana him.
