He has a point. Here is why i think this Tourny is going to wreck atleast one of the careers of the 6

This Tourny is make or break for them. Obviously it is going to be hyped up heavily since tournaments are rare in boxing.

The nly one i can remember is the one where Hopkins beat Trinidad.

1 Loss is all it takes for them to disappear. Look at that Previous Tournament: Holmes and Joppy disappeared of the radar after they lost. Those two were better than most of the guys in this SMW Tournament.

Of the 6 here, i get the feeling the non-finalists will disappear of the radar.
Yes, but isnt the point of boxing that the best fight the best and those who cant compete with the best fall off the radar?

    Til they regroup atleast

Those are classless comments by Kelly Pavlik.

Those six fighters deserve praise and respect for doing something Pavlik refuses to do: fight the best possible opponents.

I say this because not to long ago basketball, football and baseball players were getting "peanuts" while these GM's and everyone else were getting rich. So to hear Pavlik, Floyd and others want big money...I tip my hat to them and support their effort.
give me a break. 'peanuts' to top athletes is more than enough to live comfortably the rest of your life, without having to live cheap. you just dont have to be a dumbass with your cash, and youre set.

I mean, if Pavlik already got 3 million, then I dont have to worry about his financial security. that plus his other paydays makes him set for life, including any special medical expenses related to boxing. he just needs to be smart.

the fact of the matter is that he doesnt have the guts that the other tourney fighters do, and thats all there is to it. theres a huge difference between a fighter getting millions and a fighter getting thousands.

On one side he bashes Showtime for trying to bring some clarity to a division while also claim they don't pay enough. He then says HBO is great but then says HBO don't pay enough.

He has the diva mentality going on. Hopkins never affected him at all. Pavlik thinks he is a gold mine now.

So he could have taken a Million to fight Sturm, banked $300,000 out of that million after taxes and trainers. Instead he is sitting on his ass collecting nothing.

                Yes i agree 100%

We are Boxing fans because we want to see good fighters face each other, why should we care if 1 or 2 fall of the radar ? if they do fall away and never return its clear that were never going to amount to much anyway.

It's not the fact that he wants to get paid but that he insulted everyone participating in the Showtime tournament and tried to make himself sound above the tournament by disrespecting Showtime and praising HBO, when he himself hasn't had a fight on HBO in almost a year.

lol....completely the opposite, thats why the tournament has 3 prelims to decide the semis.......people can lose and still be given a new shot......

Bhop damaged Pavliks career into pulling out of fights with Sergio Mora and trying to lure 154lb to come up to fight him. He is trying to do a Bernard the only difference is Hopkins earned that right to fight smaller big name opponents. The Tournament is a great thing for boxing and if HBO had any sense would learn from Showtime.
