people in this thread just don't get what Pavlik is saying here. Its all about boxers getting paid the just amount (which rarely happens in boxing). 3 million isn't really 3 million because after taxes and certain deductions he said it would really only equal out to 300K.

The thing is this....Showtime will make a ****load of money off this, while giving these fighters a very small percentage. That's the point Pav is making. I can't hate him for wanting to earn his worth. **** all this only fighting for pride and legacy. That's important but getting you fair cut is equally important. Since so many on here complain....I like to see how many of you guys are willing to work the next 6 months at your current job with a 50% pay cut.

I mean, if Pavlik already got 3 million, then I dont have to worry about his financial security. that plus his other paydays makes him set for life, including any special medical expenses related to boxing. he just needs to be smart.

the fact of the matter is that he doesnt have the guts that the other tourney fighters do, and thats all there is to it. theres a huge difference between a fighter getting millions and a fighter getting thousands.

So you're telling me if you made a company 150 millions, while you are training your a$$ off, fight and get busted up, and they only offer you 3 mill outta that, your not gonna be salty? (not even that due to deductions bringing the amount to 300-700K)

I know I'm just throwing numbers out there but these guys put there lives on the line, while these promoters and company execs sit in the comfort of their offices, collecting a ridiculous amount of profit off them.

Sad part is that you as well as other fans really don't give a **** about these guys. Yeah your entertained for a min when you watch. You cheer them on. But what about when guys like G-Man get perminantly damaged in the ring. Joe Louis ends up selling peanuts and dies broke, and countless other stories. No fan gives a **** about them just the temporary entertainment they provided. Now I'm not saying they should, but after hearing these stories, I can never knock a boxer for wanting to get paid correctly.
