This being said, it's ridiculous to say that Gamboa ducked Rojas, he probably didn't even know who he was. Gamboa doesn't really know the profesional boxers around him, as the other cubans. When someone ask him or Lara who they wanna fight next, they always say they don't know any other boxer, so whoever their promoter team bring to them. The only two people that Gamboa has called out is Pacquiao and Mayweather, because they are the two most popular fighters. And it wasn't a ****y thing, he said it would be an honour if one day he could fight either of them.

Now, I'd REALLY like Yuri vs Elio for an unification!!!!! That would be a great fight that would make sense.
They were scheduled to fight in an eliminator or for an interim title. Gamboa and his team decided to go another direction...a much easier direction. These are facts. Take them however you wish and I'll take them however I wish.

I've seen Rojas fight a couple of times now and the guy has some skills. I'm not surprised he beat Aoh...Aoh isn't a puncher and he's smaller.

Rojas is a force in that division.

That's true, I never contradicted what you said. I only corrected one fact you neglected. Jose Rojas was the first opponent for that fight, but be backed off. So Gamboa's team wasn't trying to cover with a "similar name" or something like that. Elio came after, and yes, they changed direction for no apparent reason.

This being said, I hope no one seriously think that Elio would beat Gamboa... Elio is a quality fighter but he is not there yet. And let's not hide it, he has a really ****ty resume. His only good win was that title shot, he shares one common opponent with Gamboa, Johnnie Edward, who was supposed to be an OK prospect and Gamboa just destroyed him flawlessly in less than a round, making him do the Bambi around and everything.

Don King has done a miserable job promoting him though.

Warp.....I believe we had a bet on this fight
****, he's with Don King, **** I guess we'll see him next year.

Where the **** did you get to see him a couple times? I watch most of the boxing that's on tv and scoured the net before this fight to get a look at Rojas and haven't been able to see anything of this cat anywhere.

Wasn't there talks about Israel Vasquez fighing the guy that Rojas beat? That probably would have brought him more money than an actual fight with Rojas.

Wise move by Oner. Rojas would smash Gamboa to bits.

He fought Johnnie Edwards on Showtime. I saw that one back in the day. I saw his bout with Bolano on the Briggs/Lyakashakalaka undercard somewhere.

I just watched Rojas vs Aoh. Man Rojas schooled this dude. Fight wasn't even close. The crowd just went insane everytime Aoh threw a punch. Rojas couldn't miss with his right hand, and he was really snapping Aoh's head back with it toward the end. Very impressive performance.

I seen Rojas fight live for the first time on the Trinidad-Mayorga undercard at MSG and he knocked some dude out cold. He was like 4-0 at the time. I remember saying I think this guys gonna be a world champion. Crazy.
