Joe Calzaghe vs Glenn Johnson

yeah but i dont think johnson has enough quality to really make an impact with that right hand. calzaghe like alot of southpaws is susecptible to the right hand in general (including the right uppercut see fights with mitchell and kessler). In a way Calzaghe would probably do well against plodding, slower come-forward fighter like Johnson but then again he also has gotten into unnecessary brawls in the past, making fights unnecessarily tough for himself. If it's strictly toe-to-toe action, Johnson would do well. If Calzaghe used his movement to go in and out of Johnson's range, he would win a comfortable decision.
Johnson does have a good countering right hand which has given Calzaghe trouble before. In fact all of his knockdowns have been due to counter right hands.
great thing about joe is he would go toe-to-toe when he didn't need to and i see calzaghe vs johson being a really good fight with plenty of action and some great exhanges but i think calzaghe would engage when he wants to and would take a wiiiddde UD.Comment

Johnson is slow and plods forward in straight lines. Calzaghe works best when guys like this come to him and he can work his combinations off the backfoot. Joe struggles when he has to take the lead (see Hopkins fight).Comment
