But the division was a joke. On par with the HW Division.

If he wanted to stay in the SMW, fair enough, but he should have cleaned it up.

It took him 10 years to unify it.
he got his first belt from an old Eubank (who never won again). Got his second 9 years later from Lacy (we all know how good he was).
then beat Kessler in his last bout at SMW.

Sorry, but 10+ years as champ, and only those three names?

    That's a joke.

Then he faced retiring old men Hopkins and RJJ who would do anything for a last payday. (More pointing at RJJ who was dangerously KO'd 5 years prior).

Oh, and btw im from UK. But that means nothing to be. Anyone who judges by race/colour/belief is nothing but a racist ******
which middleweights were better than eubank, lacy and kessler? so calzaghe should be considered just as great as hopkins if not more

Eubank wasn't a top fighter when Calzaghe fought him and I can think of several light heavy's that would've dusted Lacy.

the statement was that calzaghe fought a bunch of nobodys at super middleweight when there were good prime boxers a division or 2 below him

Yes but your statement was asking should he have fought them at supermiddle. They never fought there so I didn't understand your logic. Hopkins fought Tito at middleweight but Tito was a CHAMPION at middleweight. He fought Oscar at 156.

how many fights did tito have at mw? 2 or 3 and oscar had the 1 to felix sturm, point is hopkins best wins were from smaller men so calzaghe should of fought smaller name fighters to be considered great?

The person who made the statement suggests he could moved up OR down in weight. And Im talking pre-Calzaghe too. He wouldn't have beat Hopkins. It's debatable he would've beat Echols, he certainly wouldn't have beat the LHW contenders such as Tarver, Harding, etc. Want me to go on?

Tito had one fight at middle where he beat the second best guy in the division inside five rounds. Would you have preferred he beat 4 more chumps?

I dunno why he gets so much hate he was the dominant force of that division beat the 2 other belt holders even if it wasn't packed with great names.. nuff said!!

Also i wasn't around Boxing scene at the time but someone dragged up some topics about Lacy recently and **** me.. "JEFF LACY THE NEW MIKE TYSON" "jeff lacy gonna fcuk pretty boy calzaghe face up" etc topics from mainly Americans but when Joe totally owns Lacy, Lacy is now a complete bum..

I think its funny how much ppl **** on that win (mainly Americans) yet they were wanking off to him like the dude was the second coming.. at the time
