Super Middleweight Tournament Rules and Information

for the next couple weeks im gonna be studying all the fighters styles to predict the winner out of this whole tournament..but right now for some reason my gut is telling me dirrell is gonna win it

Who cares what the americans think, what does their opinion matter? At the end of the day, bar Bute, the top guys at 168 are going to fight each other. I can't overstate how good this is for boxing. If the american audience don't recognise that the man that wins this, is the man, then **** 'em.

well I do care about their oppinion because they are disrespecting and hating a whole continent. Dont you think the ***s where pretty angry and hated the ****s? same thing here... a European boxer will never get the respect they deserve from them americans and if one of the euros win this competition they will get no respect and no recognision from the americans. And I believe that with so much effort these guys will put in to win all this, the winner should get respect no matter where he is from. but sadly this wont be the case.

very nice first round but it looks like aa got the easy draw.

So why? Taylor is a good fighter, Direll is untested and Wards only good win was against Miranda who seemed to be shot. Taylor might still be the best of the american ones.

But about the tournament: I couldnt believe it when i first saw it, but now i believe it will really happen! I mean this is great we will have verrry good fights at 168! And the winner of this will be a big star!

its a shame that unless the winner is American he wont get respect. honestly i feel sorry for the european guys. if they win they will get ZERO respect from americans and if they lose they will be even more ridiculed and hated just because theyr europeans. its a no-win situation for them.

Kessler will win it, hes the best super middleweight. If not Kessler, Abraham will win it but Kessler is the favourite.

Just imagine if Jermaine Taylor actually pulled it off and won this tournament. It's already established that he is the underdog, the weakest link.

It would be a thing of beauty imo.

The worst is it's pretty possible if Jermain learn how to manage his gas durin 12 rounds and not only six or ten....

I think Arthur can't outbox Taylor,Taylor is too big and too fast,altough both are skilled...But of course AA can knock out Jermain and his suspect chin for the count at any moment.Arthur is a ko arstist.
If Taylor get knocked out,I wonder how after that he'll fight dudes like Kessler,Direll or Froch...

Jermain is maybe a kinda looser,but he's afraid of nobody,no tune up,I have a so great respect for JT,the guy is a warrior,def not a cherry pickin hoe like duckweather.

Since he's champ,he has fought Hopkins twice,Winky,Ouma,Spinks,Pavlik twice,Lacy,Froch,now AA...

This will be quite interesting. But, how long will it go on for? Considering the how active some professional are, the tounament will probs go on for about 3 years. Still, atleast there will be a established champ.

Some interesting fights. Abraham and kessler must be the favorites. I'd expect froch to make the semis. Not sure how much jermian taylor has left, also andre ward could do well!

I'm not sure how you can compare this to one of the most horrific chapters in history, thats not a relevant comparison. I just think you're putting american opinion on too much of a pedestal. To be the best, you got to beat the best. And the winner of this tourney won't be able to have that taken away from him. If it were me I wouldn't give a **** what some americans thought. Facts are facts.

i wouldnt mind seeing allan green& bute in this. & make it a single elimination.

HBO just missed out on a hell of a tournament. im guessing they are fighting every 3 months so thats 3-4 fights a year. also would be nice if its a triple header each round
