If Floyd is the huge WW his haters say he is, isn't JMM technically trying to drain Floyd at 144 coming off a 2 year layoff

Well, you're absolutely correct 144, where JMM and Floyd are fighting, is considered welterweight. I have no problem with that. In fact anywhere between 141-147 is welterweight which is where and Cotto will end up fighting.

So, again, what is the point of this thread if we agree about how welterweight is defined.

At least, be consistent. I have no problem with you saying **** catchweights. But, if you are against Pac fighting at catchweights you probably need to have the same derision against FLoyd fighting at a catchweight. At least, attack fighting at catchweights in principle and not just attacking a specific fighter.
floyd has never fought a catchweight fight...jmm wanted this fight at 144..not floyd..get it right and keep it right

I think what he means is Floyd went up to 154 to fight the much larger Oscar, not a catchweight

Floyd went up to 147 to fight the 163lb Baldomir not a catchweight

Floyd has been outweighed more times than Manny

Agreed, 144 is considered welterweight not a catchweight. Gotcha.

And he's fighting a career featherweight at 144 lbs, which according to many experts here is a catchweight. So,it's ok for Floyd to fight JMM at 144 and it's wrong for Pac to fight Cotto at 144? Explain.

Because one comes in as a middleweight, the other comes in as a welterweight. I think that should be fairly obvious.

Aren't you the same guys who were saying Floyd was too small for Cotto?
