This has been done to death. Marg is the tougher fighter, Cotto is the better boxer.

I agree, but what would you rather be a good boxer or a good fighter? To be considered one of the greatest you need to be both, right?

You can be a dominant top level fighter without bein both, although bein both is obviously better.

Well to be one of the greatest you have to have fought the best competition out there, and thats' exactly what cotto has done, all the greats have lost at one points. Cotto can't be said he ducked anyone, he's fought top 5 welters, quintana, judah, clottey, mosley, and margarito. everybody knows that he'd fight floyd if he had the chance. now he's fighting an all time great in pacquiao. i think cotto is the more versatile boxer compared to Margarito. Margarito has a lot of talent but the handwraps thing is going to hunt his legacy forever i think...

Cotto is a really good fighter too Bragg, just because he lost to Margarito doesn't mean he's not.

Its like FLoyd, Floyd is the best boxer of this generation, but he's not the best fighter, because he's a very defensive person, and to be a fighter you must have that aggresive deamanor style, and he was offensive at first, but against his "top" opposition, he's been a defensive fighter, therefore can't sell out the mgm grand in hours like pac or oscar. therefore can't be considered in top 45 ATG.

The alleged wrap thing has not been proven as of yet and Marg is still innocent until proven guilty. For me, they're both neck to neck and their future fights will dictate who will be the overall better fighter. I would love to see Cotto and Margarito II.

Til proven otherwise, Marg beat him fair n square. Not cuz he was better, but tougher. Cotto bein more highly skilled meant nothin against a guy who had a better chin, stamina, and workrate. Those are things that ain't skills taught to you in a gym, they just come naturally to tougher guys, tho stamina can of course be improved in camp.
