And Williams had to give up his belt at 147 because HBO wasn't going to let him fight Michael Jennings on their network. It's like HBO didn't want him to be a Welterweight anymore. That's what people don't understand. Hell, they even turned down a Delvin Rodriguez fight for Paul Williams. That fight would've been decent because Rodriguez can punch. And we know the story with Clottey since that fight was low balled last year.

And the part of your post of where you say Paul isn't invincible is the part I agree with. If he gets tagged with the same punches by Shane Mosley that he did with Verno Phillips and Sharmba Mitchell, he could get hurt. Margarito had power, but we can't really say he has more power than Mosley. Can we? Someone is going to eventually have to step up to the plate and fight him though. Pavlik needs to grow some balls. That way we can have enough bread for everybody. Mosley gets his unification fight with Berto. And Williams gets a good payday and a chance at a Middleweight title with Pavlik.
interesting post becasue I do feel like Williams gets hit alot. Remember Matyessee was landing bombs and stunned Williams. Even he admitted that.

Well I know that HBO really wanted the Pavlik fight with Williams. But Arum blamed Haymon on some ****. I dont know what to beleive out of Arum's mouth. "I lied yesterday and I'm telling the truth today" But you're right Pavlik needs to step up or gain some confidence that Hop

I would also love to seen a Cotto vs Williams fight at the time before Margo. Remeber how Kellerman and HBO was prasing Cotto when Carlos beat Paul the first time?

But if Shane fights Berto first and cant get Pac, Floyd, or Cotto. There is no doubt in my mind that he would fight Williams.

he's really in a bad spot...his style kind of went out with de la hoya...paul williams...manny pac...floyd...cotto...they all have crowd appealing styles that they are known for...shane's like a boxer in a world of fighters...it's sad cause i think that if cotto and shane fought again...shane would most likely win...but he might just have to take a back seat or get a tune up fight to stay active and catch the next wave...

HBO is really gonna look like jack asses if Berto isn't able to at least be competitive in a fight against Mosley. It's gonna look like they totally wasted their money on him.

Who list is this? And why is Antonio Margarito on the list? Most
importantly, why is Margarito higher on the list than Clottey?
Gomez? This list is a joke! Especially considering that Berto
is above Joshua Clottey, when Berto hasn't fought anyone yet.
This list is bogus! ESPN list is better than this one.

Its way too much high risk, low reward. I think he would give both Mosley & Cotto hell. I think Shane would much rather face Cotto and thats the hold up. I think he felt that the Cotto-Pac fight was pretty much done but now he's seeing that its about to fall through so maybe he has a shot at Cotto or better yet, Pac. I dont think he feels that Cotto is easier but its higher reward and bigger money. Plus Cotto looks to be sliding. I even think that he would rather fight Cintron over Berto for those same reasons
I don't know about what your saying because Andre Berto is the
weakest of all the others you listed. Cotto/Clottey/Cintron would
put it on Berto. Shane should go for Berto's belt and his undefeated
record. Berto has overrated power and only relies on 1 big power
shot at a time. The way Shane pushed the bigger Margarito around
he would man handle Berto. You said Berto would look 10X better
against a righty but I didn't see that against Urango. Cotto was not
an easy fight for Shane by no means, they both battled it out. Berto
the lesser risk. Mosley beats Berto, picks up another title and it
                  helps his cause in negotiations.

Shane Mosley has Antonio Margarito's #. Margarito is too limited to
change his style at this point in his career. Margarito can't deal with
Shane because Shane knows how to depressurize Margarito.

damn a mosley/clottey fight would be explosive i would like to see that 1. imo though GBP will take too much time finding a big money fight. there should be a tournament to unify the titles, wishful thinking
