Pavlik didn't "duck" Abraham, but what else is new, many boxing fans are just haters who look for any excuse to talk crap. These American fans sucking AA's junk didn't even know who he was, until Pavlik won the title and the haters needed a white whale to use as a foil for Pavlik.

The truth is that there is no money for a Pavlik-Abraham fight because AA never made an effort to build a fan base outside Europe. Maybe that's OK if you're Joe Calzaghe, but AA is nowhere near that level... he's never faced a top-flight opponent. Abraham only agreed to the Showtime tourney because it locks in 3 high-paying fights- he is going to be exposed eventually and knows he needs to cash in.

If he is for real, Pavlik can just fight him when he moves up to 168 and Abraham is better known. For now, what is Pavlik supposed to do? Middleweight is a weak division at the moment. Speaking of Hopkins, he fought some weak defenses and smaller fighters (*cough*DLH*cough*). Seems odd considering how much Pavlik haters love Hopkins for beating Pavlik, who had moved up 2 weight classes.

Martinez is a solid opponent- not incredible but certainly not bad. It makes sense insofar as Pavlik needs to improve against good technical fighters, plus Martinez is southpaw which Pavlik hasn't dealt with too much.

Meanwhile, Pavlik is only 27 and has a better resume than any of the 6 participants in the Showtime tourney. I'm not happy with his inactivity but people counting out Pavlik either don't know anything about boxing or just get some satisfaction from criticizing him, because they don't like his style, or he's white, or whatever.

Pavlik and top rank are not fighting the top fighters. When Pavlik was a contender he was willing to fight any and everybody. Now that Bernard took his confidence he ducked AA. What is he left with now fighting smaller opposition of Felix Sturm, Bute, Pascal. And you know what he will do fight 1x a year against soso opposition untill Youngstown and his fans demand more. Pavlik could have made huge money with AA but he didn't want the chance to get KTFO. AA vs Pavlik was maybe the top 3 fights that could be made in boxing.

This fight will be a lot like the Taylor rematch imo. Martinez could win it though with providing more movement then Taylor did. Good fight though for the time being. Middleweight is now the worst division in boxing and in its history, but I don't mind this fight.

Another joke fight for Pavlik. It's a good thing Abraham moved up because Pavlik had no chance against him.

I hope Martinez beats this joke and gets him out of the picture.

This fight aint all that bad to me. Sure I'm disappointed in Pavlik for avoiding Abraham and waiting for him to outgrow the division, but I think Martinez could be a spoiler in this fight. I can't think of any other better challenger at 160 except Paul Williams. Williams needs to express interest in the fight though, instead of trying to land a fight with Sergei D.

It's not like there's 10 great defenses waiting to happen for Pavlik ATM. If he can't get Sturm there isn't to many interesting fights. Maybe Mundine. Williams could be ready in a years time.

I'd like to see either Paul Williams or Gennady Golovkin in against Pavlik.

Pwill should fight Dzinziruk and establish himself at LMW before moving up IMO. The way I hear it pwill still lacks a solid fanbase. After proving himself at 154 a Pavlik fight could be huge.

Do you think Golovkin is ready yet? I think he needs more seasoning TBH.
