I've read several boxing writers say that Roy Jones Jr. is one of the 5 smartest people you're ever going to meet.
That might be, but if he fights again, you have to wonder if there's any intelligense behind his smarts...

I don't want to watch such a talented athlete become such a total dumb****! Leave it be, Roy!

This is what I see happening. Roy comes out beats harding looks good, people ask for Jones vs Tarver 3 and then Roy gets "injured" and retires. If I were him I would just be trying to end my career on a W.

I don't think Jones should ever fight again, but I definately think his ass should keep on commentating with Lampley and Merchant. I really like how every time they call a fight Lampley finds some way of bringing up the fact that Roy has gotten KO'ed twice in a row, Please Roy don't come back and win a fight and ruin that for me

Btw the Chunk AV and the Clubber Lang AV both ****in rock, Iused to have that Clubber Action figure and I had forgotten all about those damn things until seeing that

Roy can't fight like he could in his prime anymore, but I guess he can still talk like he is in his prime. But the truth to be told is he shouldn't be in there against Tonya Harding, let alone Eric Harding.

He's earned the right to do whatever he wants to do, id like to see him come back focused and fresh and see if he could recapture some of the magic, who knows?

Harding isnt a slouch. This would be a tough fight for Jones. Especially a comeback fight. Im sure he's getting the desire to fight again. Maybe he will give his corner instructions to stop the fight if he falls off? I know Roy can be overconfident, actually ****y about his abilities. I dont think he ****** though either. Im sure he will have some sort of safety net in place if things go real bad. I know it still doesn't mean he cant get hurt. I think he's going to start being a lot more cautious on how he fights. Like Foreman and Ali in their later years.

I think roy wants to take his win tally to 50 because thats a good number to stop on. however i feel he is not good enough for tarver. He should stop now rather than ruin his record

so you want his career over, then?

name 1 top fighter besides PBF that Mayweather has done anything at all to improve? The man had a son that was born with some extrodinary gifts. The only thing he did for Floyd was encourage him. Floyd did the rest.
If you doubt me, what is DLH's record with him as a trainer?

                    Lemme see.

Gatti (w) - Gatti was fighting at 147, too heavy for him. I think everyone agrees that Gatti is exciting to watch, but lacks real skills.

Castillejo (w) - Who?? Sure, he held a belt, but he had never fought anyone of note.

Vargas (w) - Even after being down 745,000 times against Tito, Vargas dominated the majority of this fight. De La Hoya KO'd him with a perfect punch because Vargas had given up on defense. Also, Vargas hasn't been the same since having his ass handed to him by Tito.

Yori Boy Campos (w) - Yori Boy was about 10 years past his prime for this fight. The fight should never have happened.

Mosely (l) - Disputed loss, but it shouldn't even have been close.

Sturm (w) - But we all know that it was a loss.

Hopkins (l) - No dispute here.

So his record under the tutelage of likely the worst major trainer in boxing is 5-2 (really 4-3).

1 Win against a nobody in Castillejo
2 wins against shot fighters in Vargas and Campos
1 win against a fighter who had no business at 147
1 fraudulent win against a nobody

I would say that RJJ needs to stay the **** away from Mayweather if he wants to even consider coming back. Not the he should even consider it. He's been exposed, so unless he goes back to fighting corpses as he did during his reign at 175 he won't have much success.
