I remember a few months ago another major boxing website reported a fighter's death and had to retract the story after the boxer contacted them to prove that he was alive. We on the other hand actually make calls to confirm the information before making such an error to put something out there when friends and family of the fighter could and will be reading.

Damn man! This is really messed up. I'm very saddened by this
news. In countries like Brazil you have to be on point 24/7 because
there is always someone lurking. Sounds like he knew the person
or something like that considering that it was the back of the head.
UNLESS the person snuck up on him. None the less, this is messed
                  up.......R.I.P Arturo Gatti!

But this isn't about that. The deaths of these guys mean more than their boxing careers. They had people who cared about them.
as far as skills that are not HOF but as far as what they did for boxing community I think they deserve a spot.

People will alway remeber Gatti-Ward wars or his other fights where he was about to lose but comes back with a KO
