Oh wait, Isn't Eastman his 20th defence? duh.

Poetic justice = Hopkins losing his threadbare defence based legacy at the final hurdle against an opponent he underrated.

Have you guys heard about the "ea-syndrome"? Every athlete that appears on a game cover gets f**cked afterwards. Many belive there's a curse or something.
If Hopkins gets demolished against Eastman, I'll belive it too!

So I guess he had won of those 3 year layoff, training camps that makes you so much better.

Also people are saying that Nard should have moved up before now, there are two reasons he couldn't do that, first he wouldn't get his record title defenses and second Roy Jones used to be up there. When that mattered.

I don't think Bernard will any trouble with with Eastman and after that Hop will have tons of options. Personaly I'd like to see him take on Trinidad, but whos knows what kind of crap he would get from Don King trying to get that fight signed. If that doesn't work out I'd also like to see Hopkins/Johnson at a catchweight just because its between a couple guys who spent most of their carrers in mainstream ananemity getting a good payday for staying serious about their craft.

              Ya

ya, i like trinidad, but i believe DLH won their fight, and Trinidad has great power..yes...but that fight with Mayorga, Mayorga was a blown up welterweight fightin at middleweight for the first time, he just throws and hope his shots land, and he smokes and drinks for training. That does not sound like a big test for Trinidad.

Personaly I think they should forget about the alphabetical belts and have Hopkins take on Trinidad and Sterm take on Jermain Taylor, then the winners of those to matches can fight.

That would be damn awesome if they had a little tourney like that. Too bad that it will never ever happen with all the politics that there is in boxing. I hope Hopkins fights Johnson that would make for an interesting fight but what would it do to his reputation/legacy if he lost?

Johnson took down Jones and Tarver..who knows, maybe he can beat Hopkins too??

i heard glencoffe say on tues night fights ( about a month back, everything gets played later up here on tsn, so i don't know when it really was ) he would consider going down to 168 to fight Hops, if he can make weight. i'm not sure he can still get down there, he's been 175 for a long enough time that he'll really have to sweat to make super middle. if it happens, johnson will do better than his first ime with Hops, but i think he'll still lose. i think Hops still beats Tito too, even at 40. Trinidad's been looking good lately but against MUCH LESS SKILLED guys than Hops
