I honestly think it makes Sweet Pea look THAT much better, too. Fighting Oscar at the far end of his career and in the deep end of a bad drug problem yet still making it close and winning in a lot of minds.
yep.....i got great respect for whitaker.....such an underrated great...
i dont see how its such taboo to think oscar cant beat shane on any given night.........we have to remember he beat him on roids when both were a bit past prime.....and when they were supposedly prime(first fight) truth is de la hoya was distracted with his singing and his tito "loss" still hurt him(i actually think he lost something that night)and had 5 rounds in the bag after like 8-9......one more and it was draw if he didnt get tired(and again, you have to question the fact that he didnt have his full attention on boxing)......not that im saying he wouldve won.....theyre 50-50 to me

I honestly think PW wouldn't know what to do with Quartey's jab.

Well Quintana had Paul utterly confused with his jab. Quartey would have Williams off balance, AND he would be hurting him with that jab. Dude had a real weapon for a jab.

Great post. And the fights prove that they were 50-50. Man, the first one is still one of my favorites, roid controversy or not. That 12th round was ridiculous.

yeah, like i told you....once i saw that fight, i knew boxing was my sport......such skill-power-chins...... a shame oscar has become what he is now......i hate the ****...but i cant deny his abilty.......i mean look at his resume he was 24-0(20 KO's) a two weight lineal champ, a 4 division titlist, victories over like 8-9 champions (with minor hiccups like say making them move up 5 pounds...but seriously that **** is overblown since most of them proved to be good at lightweight anyway...), 3 HOF'ers, all but 1 were clear cut victories.....mostly destructions....raked p4p #1....on the top 10 p4p for about a year......all that when he had just turned 24.............point me to a 24 year old that is even close to something like that.......Linares is probably the one, and he is just a 2 division titlist with 1 name on his resume.......

So many ****** people. How can he beat them all. When Oscar lost to Mosley at 147 and lost to Mayweather at 154. Also Williams would beat the living day lights out of Oscar. If Williams doesn't stop Oscar he would get robbed just like Sturm/Pernell/Whitaker did

Linares is up there skill wise.. I really think so. But in terms of acheivements? Not even remotely close. Oscar was a real prodigy when it came to the accomplishments.

At 140 and 147, he definitely beats everybody. Unless you give me Sugar Shane in his prime, then I'll take Mosley since we saw that fight already.

At 154, not so sure. Would love to see a prime De La Hoya against Paul, great fight.

                    beats everybody there.
best fights are pac at 140 only, not 147 - pac gets killed. and p-will at 54.
