Cotto should face weight drained fighters and a bum from England. Maybe then he gets some respect.

Haha yes. Hatton wasn't a bum - however he was totally shot by the time Manny got to him. That is beyond question.

Compare some of Cotto's recent competition to Manny's:

Marquez, David Diaz, SHOT Hatton, NEAR DEATH De La Hoya

      Gomez, Margarito, Jennings, Clottey

Gomez and Jennings were relative bums (the same level as Diaz imo) but Clottey and Margarito are the MOST FEARED for a reason. Their fights with the shaven-skulled ****er Cotto show you why.

Manny's legacy is NOT beating De La Hoya and Hatton, those are just the fights that made him well-known. His legacy was made when he beat Morales, Barrera, and Marquez. Besides, everyone in retrospect is acting like they knew Hatton was shot and would get knocked out in the 2nd, when he was the clear champ at 140 and was being picked to maul and mug Manny for a win. Hatton would probably still maul and mug his way to victory against any junior welter in the world other than Manny.

Really, since Bob Arum and Don King have done such a great job of running the sport so cleanly.......

Sometimes the evil that you know is better than the one you don't. Say what you want about those two but in the before this century those guys put on great CARDS--not fights but cards. Plus, their equal rivalry balanced power. When you have one organization signing every one up, even going as far as to meddling into the media, then enjoying a very strange relationship with the major network...watch out. Really I could dig deeper but I think common sense oughta tell you all you need to know just by simply looking at the surface.

Well, I dissagree because what boxing needs is more organization. There's nothing Golden Boy has done that can make you think DLH is corrupt or wants to ruin boxing and not make the great fights.

If anything I think it's Golden Boy that has put some of the fighters we want to see together. With Arum and King, it's all about making money reguardless if it's going to be a good fight for the fans. Arum even admited himself he would have never put Ortiz vs Maidana because he would have managed him to a much bigger fight before his first loss.

That's the old school way of thinking and that's why boxing is becoming more and more of a fringe sport. Look what Dana White and Zuffa has done for MMA....boxing needs to see the best fighters fight each other and I think that Golden Boy is the answer. I'm tired of seeing these old school promoters do things the wrong way, filled with corruption and thinking it's still the days of when the mafia ran prize fighting.
