If anything I think it's Golden Boy that has put some of the fighters we want to see together. With Arum and King, it's all about making money reguardless if it's going to be a good fight for the fans. Arum even admited himself he would have never put Ortiz vs Maidana because he would have managed him to a much bigger fight before his first loss.

That's the old school way of thinking and that's why boxing is becoming more and more of a fringe sport. Look what Dana White and Zuffa has done for MMA....boxing needs to see the best fighters fight each other and I think that Golden Boy is the answer. I'm tired of seeing these old school promoters do things the wrong way, filled with corruption and thinking it's still the days of when the mafia ran prize fighting.
Dana White is a commissioner. GBP is NOT. GBP is not an organization that runs boxing, they're PROMOTERS.

Seriously, the difference isn't hard to see. And as far as them putting on the fights you want to see...they have almost all the fighters! That's what they should do! Except next time they'll charge you $55 and give you an undercard for the ages.

      Cotto is not past prime.

He is not a big WW and when he fights against a big WW he has problems. But he stills a very good fighter.

LOL I understand what Dana White is and what GBP is....

I'm saying this because it is PROMOTERS in boxing that put the fights together. In the UFC it's Dana White and only Dana White that determines who will fight who.

So, in saying that, GBP is putting out fights we want to see and we have been getting charged $50 for the last 5-6 years anyway.

I'm just tired of people screaming change and now that it's here, you want to complain about that as well.

Let's give GBP more than a few years to see what they can do for boxing. I think the biggest reason that boxers are going to GBP is because they too are tired of the corruption that exists in this sport.

Sorry dude...when you have promoters buying magazines and signing exclusive deals with networks - to the point where the network is trying to FORCE other fighters to work with them then there is a conflict of interest.

Arum and King still have a lot of good fighters signed with them and it's not that easy just expecting GBP to just get all the fights the public wants.

If boxing is to do better, a lot fo things this guy pointed out has to happen and most of them have nothing to do with GBP.

Boxing is most deifnitely a fringe sport and it will take a major change to change that.

They are not up and coming. De La Hoya has been promoting since he was in his prime. Plus, it's hard to call them up and coming when they have this magical relationship with HBO and Time Warner. People should have woken up when they took Ring Magazine (and with it the now back-to-prominence Ring belt) from right under everyone's noses. The cozy relationship with HBO is a bit much. Look how they tried to force GBP on Calzaghe-Jones. Why do you think fighters keep going over there. Ask yourself why Marco Antonio Barrera, a fighter as intelligent as any other, FLED GBP and signed with...Don King? Something's rotten.

I'll tell you what's ruining Cotto- his weight. Against Judah especially and Mosley, Cotto was cut and lean. gainst Margarito and Clottey he was much much heavier looked like a tank and much slower.
