And even in the strict analogy you used, a lot of people are taking pay cuts this year because they know that's what it'll take for their companies to survive the recession, and are hoping that by accepting a pay cut now, they'll earn more in the long run.

Man, just as I was gaining some respect for Paq for fighting Cotto... this is starting to get to me. Paq wanted the fight, he came to Cotto they drew up the deal Cotto agreed and now Paq is trying to change weight. I think he's doing it because he couldn't get the fight earlier trying to take advantage of that cut and now since that didn't happen he's hoping to drain Cotto and he's basically telling Paq to man up and fight him at 145 because he's not budging. To make it worse Manny wants 143 or 144 and then wants it to be for the WW title? Actually, it's boxing jargon in Mexican boxing media, etc. In this case, Cotto would be the Monarch of the WBO 147 lb. division. Klitschko would be the Heavyweight Monarch, etc.
