don't know about that. While I like what showtime is doing and this tournament is dope as hell for us boxing addicts, let's be real - there isn't a single big name involved. Kessler - worst hbo ratings in the history of hbo when he fought Calzaghe. Jermaine Taylor - never was a big name to begin with plus lost 3 recent fights. Froch - win over taylor, still not really known here. The Andres are american, but still small fish. Abraham - no one knows.
Unfortunately I don't think any of these fights will spark THAT much interest.Comment

You're probably right. If Marquez-Vasquez didn't do good ratings in those killer fights, how could this be better?
Well maybe a hell of a lot of promotion for starters, which they rarely do.Comment

I prefer showtime's fights on the whole - but I don't think they'll take over HBO. Most people who watch, and pay for matches are casual fans. And at the end of the day, they're more familiar with HBO events, oh, and Michael Buffer.Comment

Nah...
The reality is there are more HBO subscribers (a hell of a lot more) than Showtime.
The Super MW tourney is great for "Boxing", but HBO still runs ****. When was the last time you saw a big Showtime PPV event?
Hell...wasn't CBS (Showtime's parent co.) the ones who put Elite XC on Network TV? Why not a Boxing event?Comment
