at this rate showtime is gonna take over boxing

i bet hbo feels ****** now that showtime is putting on a glorious tournament, showcasing exciting fighters people want to see, while hbo is passing on good fights just to try to squeeze what ever money is left out of fighters like tarver.

fighter contracts and their contract with golden boy is killing them.

showtime gets to pick and choose.

yes they don't get the superstars because hbo locks them up but they get good competitive fights.

(note i'm talking hbo not hboppv)

As long as Showtime stays basic and don't start tryin to do PPV's all the time they can overtake HBO at the rate it's goin.

What really ****ed HBO was there deal with GBP.

I've always liked showtime more, they have all the up and comers!!HBO usually waits till guys are stars then swoops them away!!But to anyone that don't believe,Corrales-Castillo,hbo never will top that, because all they do is protect fighters!!Showtime puts in work, while flying under the radar!!

Curious about one thing about HBO

Where the hell is that $$$$ they were putting up for Oscar?? All them millions they have extra now, I'm pretty sure they can put up better fights or make a tournament type like Showtime.

HBO still has twice as many subscribers and 24/7. It's been a while since Showtime has had a true superfight. If they used CBS, which owns Showtime, to promote fights or to show replays of good fights, they'd be bigger. Showtime has REALLY stepped up on this tournament though. I'll be interested to see how much they put into advertising it.

HBO has squandered some it's luster within boxing lately. Showtime is rapidly catching up. The next year can be big for Showtime, and of course the potential SMW tournament is important.
